From Sports Illustrated on Campus

Sports Illustrated on Campus did a report on SEC road trips, and listed the school's cities in order from best to worst. Who came in last you might ask? Perhaps the Hacksaw can help.....that's right. Mississippi State University. Here's what they had to say:

Starkville. Well, at least whoever named this burg did not pull an Eric the Red (he's the dude who named Greenland and Iceland, even though the latter is greener and the former is icy) and misrepresent this pimple on the SEC's backside. Nevertheless, Starkvillians are damn proud of their town--just like the folks of Blaine were proud of theirs in Waiting for Guffman.

You can read the whole article at :

click on each school to read more about them. Peace out.

I personally like when you click on Mississippi State to take a closer look at the campus. It says this:

DOSE OF CULTURE: C'mon. Seriously. You're in Starkville.

Ouch.

If I had only known my alma mater was being blasphemed on the blog, I would've been here sooner. I have to say, Starkville is dear to my heart no matter what you Hotty Toddy chantin' fools say.

Hail dear old State! Fight for that victory today.....Go State!!!

what are you talking about bunge? the spelling is fine?

hacksaw, due to the lack of originality in your comment (and your school's apparent cheer), i am unclear as to what university you cheer for.

Memphis State?
ohio State?
Michigan State?
Cal State?
Florida State?
Oregon State?
Louisiana State?
Jackson State?
or one of the about 100 other "state" schools that you apparently cheer for?

Maybe you should try something more identifiable.....like "Ole Miss by damn!" Just so people know who the heck you're talking about. :)

Look, I am not sure I understand what the big fuss is or even why Sports Illustrated was making such a big deal about it. Poor Tennessee getting run by Florida or Ole Miss getting lambasted by up and coming darling of the SEC, Vandy. The only one who can maintain any sense of credibility in the lot of you is anna, but wait, her team's win came against Tulane. I won't even touch that one recognizing the issues arising from them being transplanted from NO to Rustin. Anyway, the SEC is down this year, and it don't matter regardless since the parity makes that any team who gets out of the conference is going to be too beat up to put up much of a fight against USC
