The Freaking Facebook

OK, I am somewhat of a facebook junky, and now that I have left all of my Ole Miss friends I have gotten even worse. It has enabled me to keep in touch with people that I honestly would probably never see again. Or if I did see them, then it would be totally awkward because we hadn't talked in 10 years.

So anyway, when I became an intern I had one goal in mind. Reach students for Christ and equip them to serve, you may ask???? Not exactly, but that would definitely be something that came from this goal. Build lasting relationships with students for the rest of my life???? Nope, but this goal wouldn't be possible without the help of TCU students (or at least one). I know the suspense is killing you, so I'll just tell. I wanted a facebook group named for me at my new school. Guess what??

"The Man-tern Fan Club" is now up and running at TCU, baby! I don't mean to brag, but thanks to Erin Cesla of TCU, my intern goal is complete. How did this happen? It was the Celebrity Scooter that really sent me over the edge. The stupid pictures of me at that thing had to have a venue for exposure.

I don't really know what I'm going to do now. Maybe I'll just call it complete at Christmas, and search for another high-paying job like this one. Oh well, sorry that was so long. Let's get some other posts on this thing. I want to know how you folks have been.

Funny Walt, my goal as an intern was to perform Nelly in costume while doing karaoke with some students...I acheived that goal back in August. You've gotta keep pressing on once you reach your goals. There are always new goals to make. Here's to the 2 year internship!

I'm joining too. I love Erin. She was on my Young Life team and is so crazy. Oh, another side note is that I am convinced (and now am trying to convince Kram) that the Facebook is a means of grace for ministry. Finally, I have regretfully come to the conclusion that I have low standards for myself - I haven't set or accomplished anything. If you have a goal for me, let me know. I long to be a great intern…

the so-called "freaking facebook" has been a huge part of my ministry as well. i'm so glad walt brought it up. kevin teasley (my cm) and i are in a constant war to see who can have the most wake friends... it's actually a rather sad war because he is always winning. however he has to live with the fact that he is 35 and always on facebook. actually just last week, one of the girls here made me a new wake forest facebook profile, so you can actually be friends with me at uva or wake. it takes a certain kind of person to join facebook twice AFTER graduating from college, i never thought i would be here. wow, the internship takes you places you never thought you'd reach....
