The Shaft
I just got stood up for breakfast. It's the first time that a student has just flat out not shown up. No answer to my phone call, no email, no facebook message. Nothing. It's the earliest meeting I've ever had, and I was so proud of myself being able to say, "yeah, whatever...early's fine." I had to drive through pouring rain, forego Yoga, and miss out on eating at Pancake Pantry.
I suppose it all worked out, though. I got to come to Panera - home of delicious mochas in huge ceramic mugs that make you feel all warm and cozy inside. And I'll go over to Belmont a little later. Hopefully I'll see her, and she'll feel really ashamed and start crying...but I'll be very gracious and loving, and she'll think I'm the best intern ever, and maybe give me a MacBook to make up for missing breakfast. All in God's will, you know?
