thou shall not lie

thou shall not lie
just some advice for trey.
not that anyone believed any part of his blog of utter falsehood... but i will say that i have neither met nor started dating a demon deacon college freshman and do not intend to
i hardly think i would be compatible with a child of 17 or 18 when i am now past 22 and 1/2
i would write more, but i think i'm going to try and call john stone at home and see if he will beat trey up for veering off the assignment of "quiet times and getting money"
i will be reading these blogs more often now that i know the dangers that lurk
i apologize for my absence

by the way, if john stone isn't available, does anyone else think that he or she can take trey?

Quiet Times and Gettin' Money

Check, check, check. Seeing if this works.

HOOK 'EM HORNS!!!!!!

Well, sorry, I've got to be obnoxious and brag about my Longhorns. They count as Robert's, too, since he'll soon be the Texas intern. Anyways, for anyone who didn't know... We won the College World Series! We are the national champs of college baseball! Yeah, baby!

Sorry about that lapse of humility. I felt sports-outnumbered by the Ole Miss guys at training, and I just had to get some revenge. Carry on.

In other news, is anyone other than me having trouble raising their money? Yeah.

Keep it real,

John

Hello Busy Little Blogger Bees

The Urinator’s State of the Union: Addressing All Fellow Interns
While you all have been busy blogging your faces off, I have been fundraising to further the Kingdom and share God’s love with the poor and afflicted. After you all reflect on your behavior and look to me as the epitome of diligence…I’m sorry, my jealous side is getting the best of me, but nearly 2 whole weeks have gone by without me having time to grace the best blog ever, and I have been feeling very sad about that! Furthermore, everyone decorated our beloved blog with their weekly happens and I read them all, longing to contribute and respond. So, here goes it (I have unimportant updates). I have been babysitting and traveling – first to Oklahoma, and then to Amarillo to see my number 45 ½ friend to get married, and next week I’ll be in Pittsburgh, because, why stay in once place for too long? But, I’ll get to visit Lex Vegas on the 6th – get so excited! Ok, enough about me. Now I am going to give each of you the message you are due (and sorry, but the timing is off on some of these responses):

Bunge: Congratulations on being the intern that everyone detests. Most may think that your crazy, slanderous messages cause that to be the clincher, but I hear that a full 100% of your support is in to and that makes you the intern we all hate! In reality, you amaze me: you find time to wake up at dawn to have a three-hour quiet time and then go on 23 mile bike rides. After that, and because you are finished fund-raising, your charitable little heart finds time to make sure that you are up-to-date with Anna’s fundraising and Allison’s new love interest. Furthermore, you know that we all care, and so at the end of your long, altruistic day, you make a concrete announcement on the blog, making sure that everyone is connected, and seal the close of your message with Biblical truths.

Sweet Pee – the proper spelling:
I am hurt and suffering currently. First of all, I saw the picture and stumbled right out of my chair and down the stairs. How could you not guard my heart, and be more modest? Now all of the girls have seen you and that taints OUR relationship a bit. Have you forgotten about our little tinkles? WILL SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF THE TINKLES? I am willing to forgive you, but major repentance must be displayed for I can trust you. All that being said, I still wet myself at the very thought of you…tink. PS: Honey bunny bear, Trey is not your real friend. If he were, he would delight in honoring our relationship, and not exploit you.

Kenz
Just so you all know, Kenz is a champ at recovering from oral surgery. In the midst of her healing, she had the heart to let me take refuge at her house while I was entertaining a person with whom the conversation was abnormally awkward. What a friend!

Charissa
I wish that ANY concert would be remotely close to Lexington. In all seriousness, we should all pick a concert in advanced, meet up, and have a ball. Road trips + music + interns ’05 = FUN!

Robert
Way to go! You’re almost a graduate. Yahoo! I would write you another poem, but I’m spent.

OK, sorry for the randomness of sarcasm and playfulness. I kid because I care! I am pumped about seeing all of you in a few weeks, and I don’t care what we do over the weekend, as long as we’re all together (sigh). Have a good one, and three cheers for fund-raising.

Peace in the Middle East,
Sarah

PS: Bits – Thanks for the verse. Here’s a bit of relevant encouragement for all, especially with the raising-of-the-funds!
Colossians 3:23-24
Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.

Question about training.....

I suppose everyone got the email today about what they will be doing during the weekend of training. I just wanted to see what some of the "cool" people's plans were. So that means that Toddler, Sweet P, and the Bunge need not reply. Is everybody else staying, or going or what? Holla back.....unless there ain't none.

la cienaga just smiled...

Hey kiddos!
Glad to know things are going well for you all. I promised someone...I don't remember who...that I'd blog about the Ryan Adams show here in Austin on Thursday...it was super cool. He played two sets, mostly from "Cold Roses", a couple new ones, and a few from "Heartbreaker". Much to my dismay, there was nothing from the other 3 albums...or from Whiskeytown. Maybe next time. He had Phil Lesch (sp?), the bassist from Grateful Dead come and play on the last song, and we had seen Phil earlier that evening at dinner. Pretty fly. All-around excellent show.
I just got back from Tennesse, visiting Nashville and looking for a place to live. I met the campus minister and his family and some of the Belmont kids. I love them all. And I love "Rocky Top".
Who's up for daily runs to Caribou Coffee in Atlanta?

I'm Glad I've Learned how to work this thing...

It's taken me a while to get the swing of things on this "Blog" (Whatever that means)...but I'm really glad I am confident in my abilities to post because I now know I will be forced to use this ability as a self-defense mechanism....self-defense against the false words of my fabulous co-intern. (On that note, I sure hope Allison is also "Blog" savvy...she has more to refute than i do!)

I would like to make a public announcement regarding my current support status:

I am at about 2%...not 94%! If anyone has any extra money (or cars) for that matter, send them my way. Yes, I am having to figure out how i'm going to get a car before August as well...which adds just the right level of stress to my already overwhelmed self.

My week has been uneventful for the most part. I did get to see Allison's incredible cute puppy on Friday. If anyone would like to sign up for a "puppy holding slot" let Allison know ASAP so that she can put you on the schedule.

I really don 't have any news...I do wish that people would answer their phones so that I can stop leaving messages and actually TALK to a person about what I'll be doing in the fall.

One last word of advice, Mackenzie....a tube sock with ice in it wrapped around your cheeks is the only way to go after you've had your wisdom teeth taken out...at least that's what I've found in my own experience.

Bunge's Weekend Updates

So I went to Tuscaloosa this weekend to look at my (hopefully) future house. It is definitely the most sweetest, awesomest house of all time. It looks pretty sweet. It looks awesome. That house...it's...incredible. It's about ten houses down from Anna who has already told the landlords (we have the same ones) that I volunteered to mow her lawn.

Speaking of Anna, update on her support raising: she's at 94%. She has promised any excess support will go to whoever signs her up for the most internet newsletters. Her e-mail address is annfran82@aol.com, but you're going to be hard-pressed to beat me. I've already signed her up for 50.

Romance flourishes in the intern world! As you all know, Brian and Gail are getting married in two short weeks, but there's more. Allison Buchignani has managed to find a loophole in the dating contract. It turns out that interns are allowed to date undergrads so long as they start before moving to campus. Allison has found herself a strapping, young rising freshman. She claims that she's not robbing the cradle because he "really old for his age."

Alan Williams hit New York Times Bestseller list this week for his scintillating, "Walk On." At his first major press conference he was asked what inspired him to author the novel and he replied, "When you got da game, go fo da fame."

And lastly, here's a picture of Sweet P from Summer Conference (click for larger picture). I apologize if I cause anyone to stumble...

Sweet Home Alabama!

Hey again!

So, I went to Tuscaloosa on Sunday to sign the lease for the absolute best house ever! I am really pumped about my new crib. You'll all have to come visit.

Also, today I officially started support raising. 2 hours, 14 phone calls, 4 conversations, 3 checks on the way....by the way, Trey's bold claims about my support raising efforts (62%) are indeed false! I'm beginning to wonder if I will be able to believe anything he says for the next 2 years. hmmmm....

I hope all is going well for the rest of you. I'd like to end this update with a little joke, just to give you a laugh or to as you take a break from support raising.

What did the zero say to the eight?

"Nice belt!"

Bunge's Weekend Updates

I figured that now I am back in Oxford, I’d post an update of my travels since training. The day after training, Anna and I began our counsellorships at a church camp. While there I managed to meet Sweet P’s future sister-in-law, Ruthie Fleming (sister of Nell, Paul’s soon-to-be wife). Ruthie assured me that Nell was cool, Steve.

While at church camp, I realized that I am officially awesome. We went bowling one night and were listening to someone’s iPod and the DJ put on Beck’s “Loser.” I know all the words. If that wasn’t enough, I also knew all the words to Natalie Imbruglia’s “Torn.”

Anna called me today pretending to talk about the house that I’m supposed to be living in next year. In reality, she just bragged about already raising 62% of her support. Some people just suck.

Elizabeth Baxter is visiting Ole Miss this weekend, and already Les has had to tell three students that they are not allowed to date the intern. It’s going to be a long two years.

Lastly, I need help naming my new road bike. She's really freaking fast and light, and she abuses me. Any aid would be appreciated.

-The Bunge

P.S. This verse goes out to the Urinator: Zechariah 5:5-8.

Happy Birthday Robert Stowers

In lieu of “Happy Birthday,” which is generic and déclassé, I determined that this joyous occasion necessitates sophisticated poetry:

Roses are red,
Lemons are sour,
Have a slice of cake for me
Thanks for being born Stowers!

--Ok, let’s be serious, what rhymes with Stowers…Bueller, Bueller…I thought so!

Love in Jesus,

#1 – (when I’m too lazy to sign Urinator, clearly!)
