A Last Ditch Effort...

I know the Blog has died for the most part, but I just wanted to post one last thing..unless of course we experience some sort of Blog resurrection..which would be ideal. I wanted to make sure I have everyone's correct email addresses (esp those who are off the RUF payroll as of now and will have the email change). I definitely want to be able to keep in touch with everyone...we have to have some way to plan our reunions! Just get those emails to me somehow.

so we're down to the wire...

i was just thinking that since some of our ministry days are numbered (i mean, not mine - i've got about 13 months left- but some people's.....) we might need a little encouragement to finish up strong!!!!!
therefore, a wonderful and legit (i really checked it out- even read their online message board discussion regarding the marquee) church in memphis has come to the rescue. with an encouraging, thought-provoking, somewhat cryptic message, i think they are calling us to go and make disciples (sort of).

my brother aptly titled the photo, "Only in Memphis"

see yall in 2 weeks!!!! come on Lady Anderson!

Holy Crap!!! I'm online...

Well, not quite yet, but in a few days the large group I taught last Tuesday will be available to the billion odd people who have access to the internet. Freak!!! (I love the triple exclamation point.) Does that seem wierd to anyone else? I know that some of you are used to being online (Steve-O, Trey, etc.), and I'm sure less than one one-billioneth of internet users will listen to me jibba-jabba 'bout the prodigal son. Nevertheless, it still wierds me out.
Even wierder: being quoted in a small group. This happened to me last night while I was present. I kinda wanted to run and hide... Does that mean I'm meant for ministry?

Introducing Me Church

Ok, so I'll just continue with the current theme.....stuff to make you laugh while your too busy with students to even think about needing to go to the bathroom. Someone posted this on the common grounds online blog recently.

Evangelism Linebacker

So, it's crunch time. I'm supposed to be designing flyers, working on the webpage, and studying pornography (for a small group, sickos), and instead I'm watching this video that Josh Winters sent me. I thought about running this idea by Marshall, but then I remembered that we didn't have any athletes or black people in RUF and we're "a ministry that emphasizes growing and not evangelism."

How to Save a Life

For all of the gamers out there concerned with blood, violence, and, most importantly, secular content, relief has come. Left Behind: Eternal Forces, based on the popular series by Larry Jenkins and Tim LaHaye puts YOU in command of the tribulation. Command troops and prayer warriors to convert the evil soldiers of the anti-Christ OR join Nicolae Carpathia in his worldwide domination. YOU decide. While the producers of this game are sure that YOU can write your own destiny, they have not left you entirely alone. As you recover ancient scriptures you will witness spectacular Angelic and Demonic activity as a direct consequence of YOUR choices. Gaming experts like AOL.com and the LA Times herald this game as the "most moral game of the year!" and "not sucking as much as we expected!"

Just remember: your future is in your hands.

Just a funny tidbit..

I just looked at our Bama RUF website and saw that Marshall used an Eminem quote on his latest post. Just thought that was funny.
